Location: my home, Wuhan, China
Like mature sunflowers, I too cease to follow the sun as I mature. Growing up, my mother and I collected a trove of contradictions. As I blossomed into adulthood, our perspectives diverged significantly, making communication a challenging endeavor.However, this journey of growth and maturation became the fertile ground for my creative inspiration.
While these contradictions created hurdles in my relationship with my mother, she remains my closest and dearest connection. We've loved and wounded each other, and bridging the generation gap, born from differing ideas, is no simple task.
Occasionally, a brief respite may offer the best solution. Drawing parallels to the sunflower, I designed a personal shelter within my home to navigate and reconcile these contradictions, seeking a harmonious balance between us.
Considering this project, I hope it is a hidden existence that would not be discovered bymy mother. When choosing the location, I pay special attention to the shading problem.
Ascan be seen from the interior floor plan, there is a blind angle in the middleof the balcony between my bedroom and the living room, just enough space forme, so the location is determined here.
Sunflowe rno longer follow the sun when it grows up. Itis very similar to my desire of an independent life after adulthood , no longerrely on my "sun" life.

The final selected material is determined by the simulation of different materialsand the calculation of load-bearing tension.
